Maasai Visit & Tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will have an opportunity to explore Maasai community and experience some of their day-to-day activities such as milking the cows and bead works. You will get to dive deep into Maasai distinctive history and lifestyle, being among the icons of the Eastern African ethnic group. After this fascinating experience, you will drive to Lake Manyara for a game drive. This park has the highest concentration of monkeys in North Tanzania. You will also have opportunity to see giraffes, elephants, hippos, impalas and lots of birds and with the nature of game drive and an excellent guiding Joseph & his colleague, you will be able to see the unusual tree climbing lions of Lake Manyara National Park. In the late afternoon, you will continue to your tented lodge relax after an eventful game drive day, waiting for dinner & overnight.
Game En-Route to Central Serengeti National Park
On the 3rd day of our Tanzania Adventure, we embark on a morning drive with your picnic hot lunch to Ngorongoro Conservation Area in a search for the recently awarded Africa’s best National Park, Serengeti.
You might have watched Serengeti in the world’s popular documentaries such as; – Surviving in Serengeti, Serengeti Shall Never Die, Tales of the Serengeti, Great Natural Wonders of the World, Lions of Serengeti, Kings of the Serengeti…you name it! But today, the park is going to be unveiled before your eyes, up close!
As we drive en route game drive across the heart of Serengeti National Park, you will reach your camp on time for a sundowner, a truly captivating view that safari-goers like.
Game En route to the North Area
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Northern part of Serengeti, crossing the middle of the Serengeti National Park. This area boasts a sizable number of big cats and as you drive en route to the Northern Serengeti, it won’t be uncommon to spot them along the way. You will arrive at your luxury tented camp in the afternoon on time for lunch and continue to the afternoon game drive along the Mara River. A search for wildebeests crossing, the crocodiles infested Mara River will start today and go full swing tomorrow. If you’re not lucky to spot this natural wonder of the world today, all good, there is more than meets the eye in Northern Serengeti since it has a good number of cheetahs, hyenas, lions, leopards, giraffes, Topi elands, hippo and a lot more.
Following the Migration in the Northern Area
On the 5th day of this iconic Great Migration safari, start a day with a short drive to the Mara River. A journey offers a truly unique landscape of acacia woodlands, open savanna, and a lot of wildlife on the way.
With stops for game viewing and some great shots along the way, there are chances to witness the herds of wildebeests and their close cousins’ zebras even before arriving at the Mara River banks for a much sought-after event of the river crossing.
As you reach the Mara River, the herds are likely to be congregating on the river banks finding the courage to reach the opposite bank of the river. To reach there, they need to battle the mammoth Nile crocodiles who have been waiting for this much-anticipated event the whole year. This is crocodiles’ festival season, so to speak. Everyone to their own capacity makes sure that they get lion’s share as thousands of wildebeests end in crocodiles’ mouths. If the nature of the game permits, you will be able to witness this mouthwatering event as the herds cross the river to the far Northern Serengeti and reach neighboring Masai Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya for much-needed greener pasture After an eventful day, drive back en route to the Camp for dinner and overnight.
Full Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti
Serengeti National Park is such a huge park that you can spend days, well even a week and not come close to seeing it all. Today after breakfast, we start a full-day exploration of Serengeti National Park believed to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa.
The awe-inspiring central Serengeti, famously known as the Big Cats headquarters, is an outstanding wildlife zone that you can spend weeks without getting tired of it. Stop around the Seronera Valley for a delicious lunch in the African wilderness as you scan the surroundings for game viewing opportunities. Being the main source of water in the Central Serengeti, the Seronera River attracts thousands of wild animals from ungulates to big predators making overwhelming game viewing moments.
For hot lunch, sit in the midst of nowhere and enjoy your delicious meal enjoying the endless plains of the Serengeti. Big cats, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, antelopes, hippos and crocodiles just to name a few are among the wildlife to decorate your eyes today in this award-winning UNESCO World Heritage site. After an eventful day, we return back to your luxury Camp in the evening for dinner & overnight. OPTIONAL: HOT AIR BALLOON SAFARI
Ngorongoro Crater
Today we will drive down to one of the 7 natural wonders of Africa, Ngorongoro Crater where you will have an opportunity to search for the big 5 animals, then continue to Karatu town in the evening. More than a million years ago, today’s Ngorongoro crater which is the world’s largest inactive caldera used to be among the tallest Mountains in Africa before volcanic forces took their course to dramatically sank it.
After lunch, you will have a chance to find wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, elands, grants and Thomson’s gazelles, old bulls’ elephants, lions as well as scavengers like spotted hyenas, jackals in the park which gives you a glorious opportunity to spot the endangered & rare black rhinos. After lunch, continue to enjoyable journey towards Karatu you look to leave behind the Northern parts of Ngorongoro Conservation. Continue to your tented lodge and relax, dinner is just minutes away!
Drive to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar
Today marks your magical days in the wilderness. Enjoy your breakfast and collect your luggage ready for a transfer to ARK for your flight to Zanzibar. You will land in Zanzibar in the evening and get welcomed by a representative in Zanzibar who will be ready to transfer you to your resort. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing at your private villa. Dinner is around the corner.
At Leisure in Zanzibar
In the next 2 days we will set you loose for activities on your own. You will be in the driver’s seat, so to speak. Plan any activity of your choice around Zanzibar. There are a lot of ventures to offer including walking tours, diving excursions, and parasailing, just to name a few. The Hotel organizes varieties of pursuits like diving, snorkeling, village tours and others that you can book and pay for directly.
Transfer to Airport
Your exclusive Great Migration & Zanzibar beach experiences comes to an end today. Wake up for a delicious breakfast at your resort, to be followed by transfer to airport for your connecting flight back home.
